I'm Jenn and I live in southern Minnesota near Mankato. I live here with my husband and 2 children. I had a "typical" hospital birth with my oldest son, which resulted in a long and hard struggle with postpartum depression. I had a homebirth with my second son and encapsulated my placenta. I didn't have any postpartum depression or baby blues and the recovery was a lot more smooth the second time around. I am very passionate about pregnancy, birth, children, family and women's health. I am an advocate for evidence based care and informed choice. I am self taught in placental encapsulation, and I do have a certification for Bloodborn Pathogens specifically for Placental Encapsulation Professionals.
I do the encapsulation at my home. I will come pick up the placenta from your home or from the hospital. You may have a family member, friend or Doula bring the placenta to me if you'd like. You are more than welcome to come to my home and watch the process. Once the encapsulation is done I will drop the pills off at your home (along with anything else you wanted; prints, cord keepsake, etc.). I like to encapsulate as soon as possible to insure the placenta is still fresh. I am self trained in placental encapsulation. I do have a certification of completion in Bloodborn Pathogens for Doulas and Professionals in Placental Encapsulation. I renew it each year and keep it up to date. I take safety percautions in occordance with OSHA.
Along with placental encapsulation I do babywearing education as well. I love babywearing and have been doing it for over 4 years. I have used many different carriers and I love sharing the ones I believe are the safest. I do consulations in my home where you can try on different carriers and learn how to use them and proper safety while wearing. You will also have a chance to lend them out to try them out at home for 14 days. I have information on many different brands as well as general babywearing information. Children are more than welcome to come to the consultations. I have a toy room filled with toys, crayons, paint, etc. Plenty of things to keep them entertained, not to mention my own 2 children :)
